Tagging a large, grown library on the Mac: I built a tool that proposes fixes with sources and lets you undo them

Hi, developer here. Truffle is a Mac app for libraries that grew over years: missing covers, several spellings of the same album, compilations split apart, duplicates from different sources.

What it does:

  • Suggests titles, artists, albums, years, genres and covers, field by field, each with the source it came from. Nothing is written until you confirm.
  • Duplicates: shows the copies side by side and which one stays. The file on your Mac always stays; nothing is deleted without asking.
  • Album coherence: finds tracks of one album that disagree (album artist, spelling, year, compilation flag, cover) and lists every change before writing it.
  • History: applied changes can be undone later, one by one or per session. Deleting is the one thing it can't undo.

It works on Apple Music/iTunes, plain folders (17 file extensions, mp3 to flac and aiff), and rekordbox, Serato or Traktor collections.

Free on the Mac App Store to try (100 tracks analysed, 20 written), the full version is a one-time purchase. macOS 14, Apple Silicon.
