My new blade bank, courtesy of my bank

I am currently using a tea leaves tin for my blade bank but now I have got a new one to replace that.

I dropped in on my banker a few days ago to discuss my mortgage and they have free merch such as ballpoint, bag of lollies, and money tin.

Of course, I grabbed the nifty looking money tin as I can use it as a blade bank. Nice!

What are you using for a blade bank?

How old is too old for a blade?

Got this un-used tuck of blades when I bought a vintage gillette some time ago. Seems in good condition even though it is probably from the 1960's and older than me.

Anyway, I thought let's try it for a very basic Tech Tue shave.

Long story short, it does the job still, but not as sharp or smooth as modern blades. A bit rough, one would say.

Have you used vintage blades? What do you think?

Never let you down classics for a Slim Sat shave

It's Sat already here down under. The Slim has been languishing on the shelf for many weeks, so it is a perfect choice for a Sat.

These are classics to me that doesn't let me down. Proraso red soap smells great as I use it more. Plenty of lather for cushion and slickness.

If a guy is a one & done type and can only have 1 razor, it will be a toss up between a Slim and Fatboy for me.

And acqua di gio still smells fantastic. Happy weekend folks.

Don't be a stranger Sunday shave

It's a lazy Sunday morning here and I have got some time. While I have lost my fear of open comb razor, the Old Type is not exactly buddy buddy with me, yet.

So I thought let's not treat it like a stranger and give it more shave time. And that led to a fantastic 2 pass shave today.

The old gal is not to be trifled with though, it requires a light touch and rewards technique. I am one little step closer to be comfortable with it.

Note - My Gucci by Gucci is on its last spray, I need to get a new fragrance to take that spot. Maybe something from YSL, hmnn.

Happy shaves, you all!

It's a colder start this late autumn morning. Certainly felt like winter is coming. As good as any excuse to bring out the new tub of Proraso red that I have put aside for the colder months.

A very familiar sandalwood scent, pleasant enough. Lathers easily, and got a sheen shortly. For a Thu shave, I decided to use the ball end Tech.

The humble Tech did not give me any trouble at all. 2 passes and voila, a beautifully close shave. I love that smooth skin, slightly tacky feeling you get immediately after.

Happy shaves, everyone!
