Reading about Russian civil war while searching for the next internship. I hope the White officers would suffer hell in the end.
Don’t spoil the endings please.

Don’t spoil the endings please.
This was similr to something Marx said about Russia. He sounded like an ML, using “material condition” to justify atrocities.
Who is this Adorno guy everyone talking about? Are his books worths to read? He doesn't seem interesting. These stuffs just look like Gramsci's cultural hegemony.
I have been reading this book for 2 months. I had an easy time reading this one, easier than any Marx's book. Either the problem is the writing style of the 19th century or my brain just hates Marxism.
This book explores the concept of a coup d'état not as a revolution, but as a transfer of power between ruling elites. It explains the factors that make coups successful, the power structures within governments, and the possibilities of counter-coups.
There are interesting paragraphs such as this:
>Parabureaucratic Parties
>In one-party states, such as China most notably, the party itself has lost its major role of securing the allegiance of the masses. Because it is a monopoly, the party is also in danger of appearing superfluous. But, like any other bureaucratic organization, the party can survive the loss of its primary function, either as a system of spoliation or as an ancillary or supervisor of the administrative bureaucracy of the state.
It also guide you to deal with a general strike from workers:
>The only tactic which would present a threat to us is the general strike, which would be organized with the deliberate intention of “confronting” the forces of the coup.
>...
>Though some form of confrontation may be inevitable, it is essential to avoid bloodshed, because this may well have crucial negative repercussions among the personnel of the armed forces and the police. The avoidance of bloodshed in tense crowd situations is a matter of technique, and competent handling of our incorporated armed and uniformed forces will be essential. The incidents of Reggio Emilia in Italy in the summer of 1964, in which seven people died following a “political” strike, illustrated how an incompetent police force can impair the authority of the government it is trying to protect.
Though the intended perpetrator of the coup is the army, this book would definitely help a proletariat rising, one way or another. Iirc, Engels also have a book that criticize the Paris Commune. That might be my next book.
This is what I get for doing Quality Control for the party. Koba, why do you need me to die?
Open-ended movies are great entertainment—they engage you intellectually while keeping you entertained. The problem is when filmcels treat them like profound revelations that unlock hidden truths about the world. The point is that this is just masturbating. Those "hidden truths" are just actually their own thoughts. The effect of those film is to make them think that those views they already agreed with are so great, so fundamental about the reality but get hidden from everyone.
Example:
Leftists' interpretation of Fight Club: "Capitalism is bad thus I have to join the Blackshirts to do terrorism."
right wingers' interpretation of Fight Club: "Men are oppressed by women and financial capital so I have to use violence to reclaim masculinity."
nothing special, i just want a cheap way to learn ultraleftism
If they genuinely belive that helping people is revolutionary, they should just give me that money.
