my cat got her spay at 12 pm yesterday, it is currently 11 pm the next day, almost 36 hours since her spay. im pretty sure she peed once/ attempted to pee as soon as we got home at around 3-4 pm, but other than that she has been disinterested in the litterbox even when i bring her to it and hasnt tried peeing at all. she has eaten multiple meals today, both dry and wet, but is refusing water, which is why ive resorted to giving her water through a syringe (~5ml) about 3 times today to keep her hydrated, since shes on a pain medication which requires her to be hydrated at all times. i have called the clinic and they said to wait until the 48h mark before getting concerned. other than that, she seems to be acting pretty normal for a cat post-spay, she is content with her e collar, is eating normally, she is responsive, the surgical site is clean, although she is still quite sleepy and she seems to be in pain when walking(im guessing pain is to be expected for now). she isnt showing any signs of dehydration either. vets suggested bringing her in tommorrow if nothing changes, but i dont want to cause her any more uneccesary stress or pain. i need advice.
