Recovering from zero leaves

This is my first attempt at growing an avocado from a seed, and I never expected three years later it would be so big and beautiful. It's lived in 6 different countries in it's short life, it's just thrived no matter what.

To the point that it started to offshoot, and some friends suggested I clip it, and add a little fertilizer. Now clearly I over fertilized because then all the remaining leaves dried out. (I'm not an experienced gardener and feel so terrible about this feck up).

After a month of careful soil maintenance it's finally sprouting again...

My question is what do I do here? Should I just leave it alone, or clip somewhere to encourage growth elsewhere?

EDIT: I'm aware it's not well, I'm asking what can I DO? if anything.

Why don't cyclists have bells on their bikes?

Wouldn't mind it if they stuck to the roads, but blitzing through pedestrians and dog walkers with no warning seems needlessly dangerous.

This'll sound crazy, but literally just after writing this two cyclists just collided in front of me in stromovka. Neither bike had a bell attached.

What's going here, never seen it in any other country.
