SuperLink Sensors now supported by Unifi Protect HomeAssistant Integration

Thanks to u/RaHehl SuperLink Sensors are now supported by the Unifi Protect HomeAssistant integration.

Requires Protect 7.2. After updating to HomeAssistant 2026.8 or later go to the Protect integration, click on three dots next to your console and choose "Reload".

>On UniFi Protect versions newer than 7.1, UniFi Protect reports each sensor’s capabilities, and entities are only created for the functions the device actually supports. This enables proper support for newer sensor models: for example, an entry sensor (USL Entry) gets contact and tamper entities, an environmental sensor (USL Environmental) gets temperature, humidity, light level, and leak entities, and a glass break sensor (USL GlassBreak) gets motion and tamper entities. On older versions, an entity is created for every function, matching the behavior of the original UniFi Protect Smart Sensor (UP Sense).

Camera firmware update history?

Where do I find the camera firmware update history in Protect? It does not show camera updates in the logs. Thanks

SuperLink Sensors not supported by Unifi Protect HomeAssistant Integration

After migrating Protect to the UNVR G2, my environmental sensor would no longer work in HomeAssistant. Spent a lot of time troubleshooting, but eventually found the reason here:

>To clarify for everyone landing here: the USL / SuperLink sensors are not officially supported yet. Right now only the UP-Sense is. The reason these devices appear to work at all is that they fall through the legacy UP-Sense (private API) code path, which is not a supported state — that's why they break after a console migration, a gateway reboot, or simply drop back to "unavailable" after a while.

>Proper, stable support depends on changes to the public API that we're still working through with UI. No promises, but the earliest realistic target is currently 2026.8. It may slip.

Just a PSA.

UNVR G2 all 16GB RAM usable

Installed stress-ng and maxed out the RAM all the way up to 15.1GB before it crashed. Thought maybe there was a limit of 8.01GB since some people reported that but not the case (at least at the moment).

For those ootl, UNVR G2 is advertised with 8GB RAM, but Ubiquiti confirmed current models ship with 16GB. I purchased mine last week, had a manufacturing date of May 21, 2026.
