BEST TOTO SONG EVER?

The last actual "era" from Toto where Lukather takes over as lead vocalist for two records in the 90s. A very interesting period for the band with some great and other not so great ideas imo.
Overall Kingdom Of Desire and Tambu have a lot of Charme, versatility and are unique for what they're trying to achieve. These are the most voted songs from then individual record. Let's see!
After voting for the best Kimball era song we'll now decide what the best Williams era song was. I know not every song on here features him as the lead vocalist but he was the lead singer on most of these albums in their respective period.
I once again chose the song that you voted for from each of the albums individually. Let's see which one wins this round!
Keep in mind: These are the six songs you guys voted for in each of the albums. They don't nessecarily have Kimball as the lead vocalist but these are all the songs from their albums with Kimball as the lead singer.
Definetely an interesting approach of older Toto instrumentation mixed with newer Toto vocals and lyrics. Overall there's not too much absolutely great stuff on here but still it's worth the listen imo.
As always I've picked my personal favourite songs and another option for your own favourite song to comment! Here we go!
Often called a return to form, I personally don't find this record to be as mindblowing or interesting as others but it still has it's charm.
I'll give you my personal favourite songs and another option for your own favourite song to comment. Let's go!
A very interesting record that (imo) doesn't really deliver anything outstanding from Toto. Overall there's great tracks here and there and nothing is super weak but I couldn't really point to a song that's absolutely perfect, which is rare for a Toto album.
Again I've picked my personal favourite songs from the album and another option for your own favourite song to comment down below. Here we go!
Probably the most underrated album in their discography. Kimball on the mic, so many fantastic grooves and melodies, so much talent. I absolutely adore the majority of this record.
Once again I picked my personal favourite songs and i'll give one Other option to comment another song. Let's do this!
A compilation of unreleased songs that definetely vary from great to mediocre. I like it because we get to hear something from almost every era of Toto on here.
Having both Kimball AND Williams in the mic is also a huge pleasure to my ears. I chose my personal favourite songs from the compilation. As always, comment another track if it's missing. Here we go!
The first album without Jeffrey Porcaro (may he rest in peace) and the second one with Lukather as the primary vocalist. Simon Phillips is killing it on the kit, Lukathers vocals sound softer and less harsh than on KoD and the band seems to go into a more melancholic direction on this one.
I actually like it more than KoD and I once again chose five songs to vote from (plus one other option to comment another track). So here we go!
A complete shift in style, both song writing and sound wise. Lukather takes full lead, the AOR is mostly gone and the band dives into some blues and hard rock rhythyms. Not my favourite record by any means but interesting for sure. Let's see which song wins this one!
Along with the debut this is clearly my favourite album from their discography
Incredibly well produced, amazing vocal performance by Williams and lot of versatility. So here we go!
First album with Joseph Williams. Huge shift in sound, strays away from that pure rock side in Isolation to a more pop-oriented album.
It's kind of a middle of the road album but I enjoy almost every song on here. No insane masterpiece but good overall.
Definetely the toughest to choose from because the record is so damn consistent. I still picked my six personal favourite songs, even though I could totally understand you having a different song as your favourite. Just let me know in the comments then!
Now we have reached Toto's most popular record. Again I've picked my personal six favourites but I can imagine there will be some songs you like more and wish to see in the voting instead. Comment them down below if that's the case!
This is imo the weakest Toto album (even though Goodbye Elenore is one of their greatest songs and Gift With A Golden Gun goes pretty hard as well) but I still chose the six songs I tolerate the most off the record.
Once again, If your favourite song isn't on here, let me know in the comments!
Today we're gonna continue with Toto's second studio album. Same rules again: Vote for one of the six songs below that you Like the most. If you're favourite song off the album isn't among them comment down below!
Once again, I picked my personal favourite six songs off the album. So, here we go!
Hey guys, after doing my little series of reviews of each album I will now try to find out what this sub thinks and how much the overall opinion differs from mine.
Today we're starting with Toto, their debut from 1978. You can choose between the songs that I enjoy the most and if there's one song missing that you think deserves the title, let me know in the comments!
I'm planning to do multiple polls for each album, not only asking for the best song, but also best chorus, best guitar solo, best vocal performance etc. So stay tuned!
Now that I have completed my series of ranking and rating every song off of every Toto studio album I decided to do something bigger.
This is kind of the result of all my reviews. I ranked every song from every studio album and included a few songs from Past To Present, XX and Old Is New.
I'm not going to do any more in depth analysis of any song since I have done that already in my previous rankings. I'll just rank the songs and rate them out of 10.
Looking at how many Toto songs I absolutely love and how many I find to be perfect masterpieces this was one of the most difficult lists I've ever created. I tried it anyways tho hahaha.
Keep in mind: This is my opinion. It's my list and it's my personal preference. In many of my reviews I've received some really rude comments regarding my rankings. Just because we don't shate evey opinion and music taste doesn't mean we're enemies. Let me know in the comments what ranking you totally understand and which one you find completely wrong. But please stay respectful:

Hello guys, sorry for not posting anything yesterday. Today I will rank and rate the last real studio album from Toto - XIV.
A few months ago I posted my favourite song on each album and many people were asking why I didn't include XIV. Since I really didn't know any songs off of this album except for Orphan and it was taken off Spotify I couldn't give an actual opinion on that record.
Now I have listened to the entire album and saved some songs to my playlist via mp3 download. And I gotta say it's better than I first thought it would be. It's definetely a bit weirdly produced, some vocal effects are unnessecary and I don't think they reach the heights of their career with any of the songs on here. Still better than Turn Back and Falling In Between tho imo.
Like I said this will be the last album rating of this little project. But I will do some other projects regarding Toto where the community of this sub can do some votings. But now let's rank and rate the songs on TOTO XIV:
The Little Things: I've never been the biggest fan of Steve Porcaro's vocals and whenever he takes lead it's usually one of the weaker tracks on the album. This song doesn't resonate with me at all and I forgot about it as soon as it was over. - 3/10
Fortune: One of those songs where Williams' vocals have that weird effect. Sounds totally out of place and the track doesn't really have a hook imo. - 3.5/10
Chinatown: Not nessecarily bad but a little annoying imo. The overall groove is kind of fun and I like the fact we get all three (Williams, Paich and Lukather) on the mic but it's just not very memorable to me. I tried liking it but after multiple listens it still didn't click with me. - 4.5/10
Unknown Soldier (For Jeffrey): Don't get me wrong, I do like the message of this song and Luke really sound heartwarming on here. I do think Lukather is the only member of the band that almost sounds like back in his prime, his voice aged like fine wine. But overall this song didn't go in any particularly interesting direction imo. - 5/10
All The Tears That Shine: Like with Porcaro I don't really like Paich as the lead vocalist but this song has a nice charm to it. Not the craziest thing in the world but a sweet melody in the chorus and some nice keys. - 6/10
Great Expectations: This is probably a hot take but the song isn't as catchy as I'd want it to be. I love that little guitar melody and Williams sounds amazing on this one. The instrumental section at the end is incredible as well. But overall the song gets outshined by the Top 5 of this album. - 6.5/10
Burn: Beautiful keyboard melody and an awesome chorus. But the song is a little too slow and and can get a bit boring in the verses. - 6.75/10
Running Out Of Time: Now we're getting to the actual good songs on here. Super groovy and instantly recognizable main riff and a fantastic guitar work from Lukather as always. It's simply not as catchy both in the verses as well as in the chorus as the Top 3 is. - 7.25/10
Holy War: Classic Toto with more modern production. Really catchy, very melodic and huge replay value imo. - 8 7.5/10
21st Century Blues: I don't know if I'm in the minority on this one but I absolutely LOVE THIS. Very clever lyrics, amazing riffs and one of the best hooks in their catalog even tho it's not really the most serious one lol. - 8/10
Orphan: As the only song I knew from this album before doing my deep dive this has some kind of nostalgic feeling to it. But even without that it's an absolute masterpiece of a song. Williams delivers one of his best performances ever and the chorus might be Top 10 Toto choruses ever. That bridge melody is beautiful and the guitar parts are so well done. Of course the lyrics are heartwrenching as well. - 10/10
Overall Album Rating: 7/10
What do you guys think about this record? How would you rate and rank the songs on XIV? Let me know in the comments!
