Lawyer looking to make a jump

Hi everyone,
I’m a 26 year old lawyer with 2.5 years of experience in commercial disputes, arbitration and corporate matters, and I’m now looking to make a somewhat unconventional career move from legal into a business role.

I’ve spent the last few years working on commercial matters, including arbitration disputes involving large real estate investments, shareholder disputes, regulatory matters and a few fairly high-stakes transactions/disputes. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on the other side of the table during a secondment with a real estate investment firm, which is where I realised that I enjoyed understanding the business behind the legal problem much more than just the legal problem itself.
That’s what I’m trying to move towards now.

I’m particularly interested in roles such as:
Founder’s Office/Chief of Staff
Business Development
Strategy/Operations
Legal + Business/Commercial roles

Or honestly, any role where I can work closely with the founders and get exposure to how a business is actually built.

I’m not looking for a role where I simply hand over legal advice and go home. I want to be involved in figuring things out, solving problems, speaking to people and generally doing whatever needs to be done.

I’m especially interested in early-stage startups, where wearing multiple hats is part of the job.

I know that I’m not the obvious candidate for a business role. My background is predominantly legal. But I think that can also be useful if someone is willing to take a bet on me.

If you’re a founder building something interesting and think someone with this background could be useful, I’d genuinely love to have a conversation.
Even if you don’t have a formal opening, feel free to DM me.
