Hello fellow Redditors — bit of investigative work for anyone who knows this part of Central London.

I often walk past the building marked "32 Portland Place" on the map (top right) and have noticed something that's intrigued me for months.

On weekend mornings, usually between 7–11am, there are regularly people spilling out of the building dressed as though they've just come from a night out. Many look like they've been there all night, and quite a few appear heavily intoxicated / obviously on drugs. It's always struck me as odd because there doesn't seem to be any obvious venue operating there.

Then last weekend I noticed something completely different. Amid the usual protests around the area, there was a long queue of what looked to be mostly single men—many of them looking pretty scruffy, with a few arriving in pairs—stretching outside the building and around the corner onto Portland Place. It looked totally different from the usual late-night crowd.

Now my curiosity is getting the better of me.

Does anyone know what actually goes on at this address? Is it some kind of members' club, an underground venue, a private event space, or something else entirely? If you've been inside or know the story behind it, I'd love to hear it.
