Skeletal bush / curb appeal

Trying to decide if I should take out this bush (juniper I think). It got overgrown over the sidewalk so we cut it way back a couple of years ago. Now there’s no greenery covering the side and it looks bare like a skeleton. So am considering cutting to ground level (leaving the roots alone) and putting mulch here.
But also a little concerned how the siding may look once it’s out considering it’s been there for over 40 years. What do you think?

Airalo eSIM

There were no recent posts about eSims that I saw so for other people who are planning I just wanted to say the Airalo Latin America eSim worked fine for the places I went (Quito, Balts, Santa Cruz, San Cristobol). Note the Ecuador selection clearly says it won't work in Galapagos.

I chose 5GB for a weeklong trip and still had over 1GB left at the end. (I made sure to turn on Low Data Mode to ensure it wasn't automatically backing up photos etc to iCloud over cellular and, of course, used Wifi at hotels or wherever available).

Cast iron air pipe corrosion

This area leaks when it rains. At first I thought it was a pinhole leak where you can see the metal bubbling and it’s damp. But you can see in one of the pictures little rivlets of water coming from above. I haven’t climbed on the roof to inspect the area yet but I don’t think the roof is leaking. If it’s just for air can I put some kind of cap over it to prevent water from getting in (I don’t mean to seal it of course)? House is 58 years old.
