3 month progress on Dut + Oral Min… am I seeing real density improvement or just longer hair?

My husband started treatment on Feb 1st 2026 for diffuse thinning / density loss. He never really had a receding hairline. His main issue was overall thinning and see-through density, especially at the front under bright lighting. Because of that, he always kept his hair super short.
Current routine:
Dutasteride 0.5 mg daily + Oral minoxidil 5 mg daily + saw palmetto capsule daily

Bottom pic is April 30th 2026, so basically 3 months in.
We were honestly expecting noticeable results closer to the 6–12 month mark, so this kinda surprised us. But I genuinely can’t tell if:
the density is actually improving already or it just looks better because he let it grow out for the first time instead of constantly cutting it short 😭

For context:
he didn’t get a proper haircut during treatment , only trimmed the sides/back slightly. Also same lighting used.

What do you guys think? Especially people experienced with dut/oral min combo , can density changes show this early? Or is this mostly a length illusion?
One thing we did notice for sure is increased body hair growth and tiny hairs filling around the forehead/temple area, which makes me think the meds are definitely doing something.
Would love honest opinions and experiences from long-term users 🙏

Before / after

First time doing Botox — before & after ✨
Honestly kinda happy with the results already 🤍

Did exactly what the fellow Redditors suggested for the injection points and it helped tons. Thanks so much to this community 🫶

I did 3 horizontal points across my upper frontalis — 2 units each.
Then 5 units in the procerus and 4 units each in the medial corrugators.
Didn’t want to touch the lateral tail yet since it’s my first time and I was a bit nervous about ptosis 😭 Planning to wait a week and then maybe try a subtle brow lift.

Huge thanks to u/Hello_Blondie for the detailed step-by-step advice on my last post 🫶 I followed the conservative approach you suggested and it helped so much already.
