So today I took my corgi to daycare, but had to take her home because she was being snappy with the other dogs. She is not usually like that and loves going to daycare, so I am incredibly confused. This only happened one other time, but was corrected when she went back in and played the entire time. This time she snapped when she got in, played for a little, then snapped again.

We are trying to figure out why she could be acting this way and these are a couple things we came up with:

1. I am 8 months pregnant so maybe she has higher stress than normal. Our living room has been ever changing with boxes moving in and out as we get the babies room ready. She also has been more attached to me these last couple of months.

2. It’s the day after 4th of July and she seemed a little spooked with the fireworks, even though in the past she was pretty chill with it.

I do also want to mention that she does seem a little more anxious with loud noises recently. We have noticed that whenever we get loud during the world cup games, she immediately comes to me or hides by the corner of the couch. She also got freaked out at this movie we were watching because of the screaming and crying. This is also new.

I guess what I’m just wondering is that could this just be her acting this way because I am pregnant and the changes that are happening, or is this her new personality and could it change that quickly? Also, should I not take her to daycare for a little while?

TL;DR: My 2-year-old corgi, who normally loves daycare and plays well with other dogs, was sent home after snapping at dogs twice. The only similar incident happened once before and resolved quickly. I’m 8 months pregnant, our house has been changing as we prepare for the baby, she’s become more attached to me, and she also seems more anxious about loud noises lately (fireworks, cheering, screaming in movies). Could this be temporary stress related to my pregnancy and recent events, or is this a lasting behavior change? Should I give daycare a break for now?
