[SPOILER] Lumon CEO Names
Sorry if this is old news, but I couldn't find any other post or comment about some of it.
I was rewatching the show and noticed some things about the Lumon CEO names. Hard to tell if it's intentional or apophenia, but possibly interesting still?
The Lumon CEOs
Kier, Ambrose, Myrtle, Baird, Gerhardt, Phillip, Leonora, Jame
If you take letters from the alphabet that’s used to spell their names, you get ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ.
With these letters you can spell out EROTICALLY AVANT GARDE, I AM.
It also explains some really weird stuff like why Helly facefucks Dylan and why Irving balanced a potted plant outside the break room on his stomach to camouflage his riding of Burt’s weathered yet rock hard penis.
There's some other stuff, like Angela White having a full figure similar to Ms. Cobel. Lenore is a character in a Beethoven opera who disguises herself as a young man named Fidelio in order to infiltrate a prison and save her husband. Which, it's interesting enough that two women in the Eagan family could be references to fictional characters that disguise themselves as men, let alone with approximately the same name, and infiltrating a prison to have free-wheeling, no strings attached sex is a little on-the-nose for the plot.
And maybe the smallest one but kinda on-the-nose as well, Ambrose and Myrtle. Ambrosia is commonly depicted as conferring immortality, and Myrtle is the greek plant of Venus that is associated with immortality. Venus is also a word associated with sexuality, especially ancient images of voluptuous women who erotically stimulated the artists of their day. The episode where you are introduced to these characters is called In Perpetuity, which is my answer to when somebody asks me when I like to masturbate.
I know this is a common suspicion amongst fans of the show, but I'd venture a guess that 'revolving' is just Kier Eagan sleeping with a diverse range of men and women through all his successors. It’s like Being John Malkovich, but for a pornographic free for all, with Charlie Sheen’s spirit possessing the vessels of the cast to enjoy both sides of the menu. It’s a psychosexual spell, and we’re all under it
