I was wondering if I could get some advice on asking my current commercial landlord for a reference without directly telling them I may be terminating the lease and moving elsewhere.
Basically one of the conditions in my potential new lease requires me to submit a reference from my current landlord before we sign any contracts etc. if for any reason it falls through I’d rather not alert my current landlords to me possibly moving until I’ve signed my new lease and I can give them my official notice. Not sure if there’s a way to go about this or I just need to bite the bullet and tell them I’ve been looking at a new property to rent. TIA
