4 months post-op!

Had my ligaments and tendons repaired in early March. Still some major atrophy, but I'm now able to wear flipflops without a brace again (for short distances)! Just in time for the 100°+F in the US's birthplace. Scarring is pretty minimal and this is the least pain I've had in my ankle in 20 years. This surgery was life-changing!

I'm a little over 6wks post-op with ligaments and tendons + hardware and finally partially weight bearing in the boot/crutches. Last night I had a rare night out with admittedly a few several drinks too many and took a train home ($1.50 disabled fare vs a $35+ uber for less than 2 miles) which also meant a 0.2mi drunk hobble down the hill from the station and a flight of stairs when I got home. Probably not my brightest idea...but after over a month of practically being homebound? Zero regrets. I just needed the good company for a MH boost.

Woke up this morning with my feet being several shades different in color. My left is the normal shade, but the right/surgery side is a pretty deep reddish with the same swelling/bruising pattern I've had since the stitches came out and starting PT. Absolutely no pain or tingling or honestly no alarm bells that anything's urgent enough to warrant seeking a doctor, but I'm also nursing a raging hangover and just took a migraine med while sipping on Gatorade. My pain tolerance is way above average and I almost never feel any until it's unmanageable. Like, 0 to 100 in minutes usually. So I'm probably not the best judge of urgency 😅

Is the color difference normal? Recovery has been unpredictable, but going very smoothly so far. I've been very diligent on following my surgeon and PT's guidance and have been hitting recovery milestones several weeks ahead of predicted/expected and don't want to jeopardize anything. But this one threw me!
