[Casio Oceanus] Came to Tokyo for a Grand Seiko, left with a Manta.

Hey guys,

Just wrapped up the Tokyo leg of my dream trip to Japan (5 days of non-stop hunting through Ginza, Nakano Broadway, and Shinjuku Bic Camera) and wanted to share my first pickup.

Honestly, my game plan was pretty strict: find a Grand Seiko and maybe hunt down some vintage Omega or Seiko. But the sheer volume of immaculate watches here is overwhelming. The pricing and quality are exactly as advertised, if not better, to the point where it’s actually hard to make a decision because you're totally spoiled for choice. (I feel like I have decision paralysis)

I ran into this JDM curveball and couldn't walk away. The finishing on the titanium and that dial look incredible in person. It just felt like the easy choice to make given the price and exclusivity.

The rest of the carousel is from the Seiko Museum, which was a massive highlight.

Next up is Kyoto for a couple of days (hoping to grab a Kuoe while I'm there), and then finally Osaka to maybe actually get a Grand Seiko and do some vintage hunting. There is a particular white textured spring drive gmt that I think I can buy brand new without stretching my budget too thin.

Fingers crossed.

PS. Sorry for the insanely long post. Not usually a writer.
