Stubbed toe badly and worried it might effect healed Lisfranc injury?

Hi everyone, the other day I stubbed my toe really badly (the type where you do a tom and Jerry yelp and have to roll on the bed for 5 minutes).

it bruised badly and swelled a little so I called 111 and asked for their opinion as its one of the toes I broke when I did my lisfranc injury and I was worried it may move things or harm it.

a few days on I don’t believe the toe is broken, or if it is it’s a very small fracture. As it’s my middle toe 111 gave me advice on how to help it recover if it was a broken toe and what to look out for if I needed to go to A&E. So far it’s all ok but the top of the foot around where the metal work is and the lisfranc injury was feels more sensitive or sore and it feels harder to walk/stand? I’ve been walking for maybe 14 months now post op and am still in physio for muscle strenghtening (so this doesn’t help as I need to be gyming!)

I’m unsure if this is just me being subconsciously over protective of the foot or maybe it’s just knock on effects of how badly I stubbed it. I can still bend it and bear weight fine, it just feels slightly off or strange if you get me? Has anyone else stubbed their toe badly and found it made the injury more sensitive or even caused a new injury? Just wondering if it’s something that will feel funny for a week or so but get better soon or something I should be more concerned about!

Shoe advice now I wear insoles?

Hi everyone, long time no see!

So, I broke my foot (lisfranc injury) in March 2025 and am back walking and still in physio and stuff. However I’ve come across a new problem. Shoes. I have to wear insoles all the time after the break due to over pronation inwards (painful without them) and I’ve always had very narrow feet. Before breaking my foot shoe shopping was hard but now it’s basically impossible. I’ve got one pair of shoes that fit me currently which are my new balance 530s and I went to try on some other shoes the other day (tried on some asics and Salomons). The issue I’m finding is the insoles now push my foot out of the shoe causing them to slip badly. As I have narrow feet my shoe selection was always limited because I had to find shoes that didn’t slip, but this has made it even harder. And it’s annoying because if I take the insoles out I think some of these shoes would have fit.

Does anyone know of any shoes that are slightly deeper (and good for narrow feet) that would be able to accommodate the insoles? The new balance just about do it (but it’s a fine line), but it would be nice not to have some shoes that were different (or just any others that fit me at this point!)

I’d really appreciate any advice :)

Thankyou!

I have an agent but don't seem to get auditions or in the room - any advice?

Hi everyone,

I'm sure many people have this same issue but I wanted to see what people's thoughts were about how to approach this. I'm in the UK and graduated from drama school last year and got an agent in December. They're really lovely, sort of a small to mid-size agent and I can see they put me up for a lot of stuff through tagmin. They put me up for tv and film as well as commercials and other things and it's good stuff and interesting stuff. I've had auditions from them while l've been with them, however every audition l've had is for commercials (nothing wrong with this). Because I only seem to have got auditions for commercials with them even though I can see they're submitting me for a lot of things l'm starting to wonder whether I'll ever get auditions for more than this. Is it a case of because I'm unknown they don't want to offer me auditions or is it the case that because the agency isn't the biggest they maybe can't get me in the room etc?

I'm thinking of asking for a catch up call with my agent to ask if there's anything I can change (such as headshots or update my spotlight etc) but am unsure if this seems unprofessional. I want to try and do as much as I can so l'm in good stead if casting directors are looking at my profile but again am unsure if it's unprofessional to ask my agent that as they're not acting coaches. I also really like them and don't want to come across ungrateful, I'm just wondering if there's reasons I may not be getting auditions on my end.

Don't know if anyone has any advice regarding this but if you do please let me know! :)
