New record?

New record?

5 chargers block with 1 small truck?

Edit -this is not an EV Transit. And it’s 5 spots not 6. One space had 2 chargers.

Here is a feel good picture to let everyone know it’s not all drama.

60 Plugs, all working.

All Uber drivers

No pictures, but upon arriving at work all 10 charger plugs were taken by Uber Drivers. Not a single employee was able to connect. Someone who got there before said they let the manager know, but doubt anything could be done since there is no exclusion signage.

My guess is easy free charging will be going away soon.

*Update on why there is no restrictions or signage. Turns out the back end controller is owned and managed by our local power company and the entire charger project was subsidized by them. The delivery and site is shared by the group of businesses that share access to the parking area (two office buildings and a restaurant). Part of the agreement was it needed to be kept open for all use. So there will be no change the site, or any additional restrictions.

Drift Mode

Finally found a place that was big and legal enough, plus the time to try the drift mode. Holy cow is it fun. But why is it so hard to get it to actually engage?

I see several people enable the engine sounds at low speeds through aftermarket solutions. My question - wouldn't that noise meet the pedestrian requirements? Wonder why they don't have the spaceship noise as a default, and the optional engine noises as options?

This happened on Monday. I had just finished plugging in to the last available free level two chargers at my office building and was getting my computer bag and similar items from my front seat. There is a total of 10 spot, so they are pretty generous on the amount that they offer. A person pulls up and ask if I would be willing to give up the charger as they were down to 19%. I calmly said I am at 20% so I’m kind of in the same situation. At which point they replied, “but I’m lower and I’m not sure if I can make it home”. This was a Tesla model three so even at that level, They should be able to drive plenty of miles to make it on a typical commute. Despite this, I offered to come back and unplug in a couple hours at lunchtime and then they could use it for the rest of the day. At which point she replied that she didn’t have time to come down and swap cars. So then I said, I guess that means that you wouldn’t do the same for me if I allowed you to plug-in now. She looked at me, paused and said, “but I am at 19%! “At this point, I realize this conversation wasn’t worth it and just walked off at which point she pulls in a spot across from the chargers, and flipped me the bird.

Just to follow up ,at lunchtime I did look out and saw that there were four open chargers, so I did not bother to come back now. I have no idea if she ever got a chance to plug-in.
