One of the Best Nights of My Life

First of all, I should tell in advance that this is going to be a long post. I want to preserve this memory somewhere and, more importantly, express just how proud I am of the group we all love.

After three and a half years of knowing MONSTA X and spending that time as a Monbebe, I finally experienced the miracle of seeing them live yesterday. I still cannot believe that all it took was a single metro ride.

After falling in love with their music, I became an even bigger fan because of their genuine personalities, their warmth, and their complete lack of ego. Friends, just a day ago I completely understand that we were so right, that we made such a good choice by loving them.

You should have seen the way their faces lit up the moment they stepped onto the stage and realised that far more people had come than they had probably expected. Throughout the entire performance, they looked at us with eyes sparkling with affection. Kihyun and Minhyuk in particular wore all of their excitement openly on their faces.

When the host asked Minhyuk how he felt, he said that more than happiness, he felt apologetic, because despite debuting eleven years ago and going on numerous tours, they had never come to Turkiye before.

During The Dreaming, while everyone waved their phone flashlights Kihyun told us to turn around and look at ourselves because we were so beautiful.

Minhyuk, later admitted during the talk segment that The Dreaming had nearly made him cry and that it had made him feel even more apologetic. The moment he said that, we all started shouting in Korean, “Don’t cry!” When they realised that the chant was in Korean, they seemed even more surprised.

After The Phase was released, they promised, together with Changkyun, that they would return to Istanbul. We all raised our pinky fingers and sealed that promise the Korean way.

I genuinely cannot describe the atmosphere.

They performed Dramarama, Growing Pains, The Dreaming, Rush Hour, Love Killa, Do What I Want, and Burning Up. The encore was Zone, which happens to be my favourite MONSTA X song. The moment Zone started, everyone who had been filming the opening seconds eventually lowered their phones and began jumping together.

When the concert ended, they left the stage after bowing deeply and thanking us and saying goodbye in Turkish as a sign of gratitude.

After the concert, I cried while trying to explain everything to my friends over the phone. It was not only because a dream I had held for a long time had come true, or because I had experienced one of the most unforgettable nights of my life. It was also because I could clearly see that this night was precious to them as well, that they felt just as happy and grateful as I did.

Because I have followed their every step for quite some time now, it meant a lot to realise that my impressions of them had not been wrong at all. Even people at the concert who were not Monbebes could see it. Perhaps it is not my place to say this, but I felt incredibly proud of them, and proud of myself for being a Monbebe.

As we say in my country, spoken words fade, but written words remain. So I simply want to express my gratitude to Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon and Changkyun.

Thank you for coming to my country and my city. Thank you for embracing us with the same warmth and sincerity after feeling so clearly the love and enthusiasm we have for you. Thank you for being who you are.

Saranghanda, MONSTA X. ❤️

Is anything planning for Minhyuk?

I’m really curious whether there are any plans for Minhyuk. When you think about it, Jooheon has released a solo album, I.M is in the military and already has a solo career, Kihyun has released a solo album before and it seems like another one may be on the way, and Shownu and Hyungwon have been making music as a duo for quite a while now.

So what’s planned for Minhyuk? Or is it simply that he doesn’t want to pursue those kinds of activities? Personally, I’m one of the people who really loves his voice and his singing. For some reason, I’ve always thought he and Kihyun could make a great duo, and I wondered whether something like that might be in the works, but it doesn’t seem to be.

Then again, it doesn’t necessarily have to be music. Minhyuk used to do quite a bit of hosting on various variety shows, and if he wants to focus on that kind of work, I’d absolutely support him.

Of course, as I mentioned at the beginning, it’s entirely possible that he simply doesn’t want to do any of those things, and I would completely respect that as well. Not everyone has to pursue individual activities, after all.

I’m just curious about what might have been planned for his future and wanted to hear everyone else’s thoughts.
