Strata

Work as a female cook around town and have come here on multiple occasions for little things like tweezers and such. Never had experience asking for info on knives until today and was disappointed. Think they got cool stuff and would love to keep em there. Wanted to write a review on google but the owner kind of makes up well articulated condescending excuses…we’re people we fuck up and you learn from it.

Just annoyed, I brought a female friend in to look for a knife (also a cook). Two men walked in after us while we were waiting at the counter and near the window obviously looking at the knives. Both men were helped before us, no one asked if we were looking for anything so we walked out. We were the only customers in the store before the men arrived. Sure we didn’t ask the dude at the counter who made eye contact with us but damn isn’t your job to sell knives..customer service?? We were serious about buying a knife and supporting your business. You won’t be getting my money in the future and I’m kind of bummed because it’s a beautiful spot.

Day olds

Anyone have a favorite bakery that sells bulk day olds? Mostly looking for bagels, breads. Bakeries that give you leftovers after the end of a day?

Mid 20s Portland life

Moved here about 3 years ago, love the outdoors that Portland offers but the nightlife and community can sometimes be a drag. I’ve joined sports teams, go out at night and have frequented social spots for 20/30s but it’s been tough!!! Can’t tell if it’s the new norm with this life we live online or if this is Portland for young people. For those in a similar spot would it be worth it to stay for grad school or is what I see what I get?
