Our friends in San Diego hosted a longboard dance competition called The Coastline Classic over the weekend. They were kind enough to let me demo during a break in the action. I don’t think I’ve performed a proper routine since 2024 so don’t judge me too harshly 😂 boy do I miss competing tho
It was a freestyle skateboarding competition called the U.S. Open of Freestyle. This was the first year that the USA Freestyle Skateboarding Association ran the event and we’re leaning a TON. Our big takeaways: keep scoring brief and transparent, splurge on a sound system, and make time & space for folks to skate together.
