Best press mold release agent?

I have been on a ceramic break for a few years and am ready to dive back into it! I wanted to make a plaster mold for pressing clay in from the impression of my kids' hands.

To make the negative of this plaster mold, previously I would have used liquid soap, a mixture of green soap and sunflower oil I believe. But soap apparently is not so good for the plaster as it dissolves it. What is a good release agent that keeps the gypsum and its detail most in tact?
