When Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao’s cabinet tried to meddle in his territory, Seshan bluntly reminded the nation: "I am not the Chief Election Commissioner of the Government of India.i am the chief election commissioner of india"

1.in the 90s he drafted the Model Code Of Conduct and banned over 150 illegal practices such as buying votes, graffitis, loud music and alcohol distribution for votes.
He once monitored a Bihar election so strictly that the regional strongmen couldn't capture the booths, leading to the famous quote from a local politician: "Seshan versus Nation."
