Tendon (the tempura rice bowl not the connective tissue)

Oakland has a lot of sushi and noodle focused Japanese places but what we've been jonesin for is tendon, i.e., a rice bowl with pieces of freshly fried tempura on it plus (crucially) a delicious helping of sauce (slightly sweeter than regular tempura dipping sauce) that seasons both the tempura and rice (distinguishing it from a tempura set meal with rice where you get tempura dipping sauce, as described here: https://thejapanesefoodlab.com/tendon/).

We've had a number of disappointing tendon where it was just pieces of tempura (proper tempura batter can be a separate discussion, we'd take anything decent for a rice bowl) plonked on white rice, with no sauce at all!

Note, I also enjoy eating the occasional tendon (the connective tissue in a bowl of pho) but I suppose that is also a different discussion.

Where in Oakland (or nearby, we're willing to drive) can one get a proper tendon?
