Having trouble with my scale
I picked up two chanters and a set of second-hand pipes a couple of months ago. The local pipe band near me needs me to commit more than I'm able to so I've not had any teaching and I normally cannot get my low notes to stay low. It seems to happen sometimes. Only if I'm playing high notes before them and even then it doesn't last.
My question is whether this is an issue with the reeds I'm using that I can modify or replace the reads or whether it's an inherent issue to the chanter being low quality as I see a lot of people say you need to spend decent money on a chanter to get any useful results.
(Of course, I'm very open to this being a technique problem, but I I'm confident I'm at least covering holes when I try to do this stuff very slowly)
