Advice

I recently made a post for help on finding work union or not. I got my osha-10, lockout/tagout, and cpr certification. I’ve contacted every non-union contractor I could. I’ve tried talking to some union contractors as well and I keep pestering people with emails hoping for a chance to be a helper. I live in the Chicago area so I know competition is high and I’ve applied to IBEW and a few other unions. I’m 18 with no experience, anyone have anymore advice for me on what I can do now? I’m just looking for a shot. And if anyone knows anywhere that’s hiring let me know. Thanks.

I wanna get into the trades

I’m 18 and from Chicago and I wanna get into the trades, preferably hvac, carpentry, electrical or plumbing. I’ve been applying to and trying to get into locals but I’ve heard the wait times can be long and I get no calls back. I’m willing to do anything to get into some type of work or experience union or non union. I’m gonna keep applying to places and if all else fails I’m already enrolled into hire360 but I want more. Any advice on what else I can be doing to be more proactive and get a job somewhere?
