Underrated songs
I’m talking ‘niche’ or ‘underground’ songs I’m talking about songs which are known and loved just get overshadowed by more popular songs. Note I use Apple Music and not Spotify so can’t see streamed just going based off opinions I’ve seen online. Not doing mixtapes or compilations (so stuff like I’m good, Good Fridays, cruel summer etc)
1: TCD - Never let me down - I know people within my circle of friends and family like it just never in there top 5 and a lot of opinions I see on TCD never have it in there top 3 it’s always last call, all falls down, Jesus walks or through the wire so I feel people should appreciate it more even though they already do
2: Late Reg - We Can Make It Better - I don’t know how people feel about it because people talk about heard em say, touch the sky, gold digger, we Major both diamonds from Sierra Leone and hey mama and I feel it should have more light shined on it. People within my circle love it but prefer more than half the album over it
3: Graduation - Good Night - I always see people talking about the glory is underrated but I never see anyone talk about good night. This is basically overshadowed by 80% of the album but I fell in love with the soothing nature of the song. People within my circle don’t mind it but tend to put on most of the other songs in graduation instead. This is my second favourite of the album personally
4: 808’s & Heartbreak - coldest winter - this was really hard to do because heartless is obviously the most popular but everything else is so close in terms of popularity but I chose this because I see people talk more about everything else over coldest winter and I see people say it drags a bit. This has been my second favourite for so long and when I say it people say ‘what this’ or ‘what about that’ and I think people should appreciate it more
5: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - So Appalled - this is my favourite on the album but it gets outshined by everything except blame game and lost in the world. I don’t understand why it isn’t as loved it just hits my brain in a why I can’t get enough of and people within my circle don’t really like it and they never justify themselves. People online talk about the whole album and say they don’t like this but that ‘bum bum bum’ is so fire imo. I think we should shed more light on
6: Watch The Throne - Primetime - I don’t have much to say as people don’t like this album so much I only know how people feel about NCITW, NIP and Otis. My top three on the album is 1: Otis 2: Primetime 3; That’s My Bitch so feel free to leave your opinions :)
7: Yeezus - Guilt trip - I see people love this but prefer most other songs on the album and for me this song is so cool and enjoyable giving me goosebumps every time along with hold my liquor. This gets overshadowed by on sight, black skinhead and most other things so I feel people should appreciate it more
8: The Life of Pablo - feedback - I ain’t got much to say everyone loves this album but 80% overshadows’s this song from what I’ve seen people in my circle like it though
9: Ye - wouldn’t leave - this whole album means the whole world to me but everyone talks about ghost town (my favourite Kanye song) and violent crimes but I feel this song perfectly captures someone contemplating leaving and how you would feel. I ain’t got much more to say but people may disagree with me here
10: KIDS SEE GHOSTS - Freeee (ghost town pt. 2) the production makes it feel like all your negativity is blasting off into the atmosphere and physically calms me down but no one I speak to says this and kinda hate it but I’ve seen it get loved online just overshadowed by everything else
11: Jesus Is King - Use this Gospel - people hate this album so don’t have much info to give but I like use this gospel with Pusha t delivering a strong verse and malice has a great verse
12: Donda - Pure Souls - I’ve been writing too long I can’t be bothered anymore but roddy rich has one of his best verses on this.
13: Donda 2 - We did it - Baby Keem has a good verse
14: Vultures 1 - Do it - people prefer other stuff but most this album underrated
15: Vultures 2 - Forever - this album is so slept on
16: Bully - Circles - hated for no reason
17: Never stop - this album sucks
