How are these spheres formed?
They are either purple or pink and found in Hvalfjörður, Iceland. They are called baggalútur (I think) in Icelandic but I dont know the english word for it. Really curious to know how they form.

I am very excited. I got the National Geographic Professional Tumbler Kit. Do you have any very basic beginner tips for me?
- I live on the south west coast of Iceland (so mostly basalt rocks here) and I collect rocks from here and I plan to mostly tumble rocks that I find personally. Are there any Icelanders here who want to link up?
- I have read that you should tumble rocks of same/similar hardness and you can check for hardness by scratching the rock with nail and knife and scratching the rock on glass.
- I have loads of obsidian from Hrafntinnusker and I have a chunk of rainbow jasper (unknown origin) gifted to me by my grandfather that I am excited to tumble.
- I sometimes look for rocks in places where there are new roads being built (newly dug ground) How do I determine rocks from “industrial slag”?
- Can I post pictures of some rocks that I find to get your opinions on or would that be faux pas on this subreddit?
- I fully plan on learning by doing but any insights and opinions are welcome! I will learn from my mistakes but I would like to avoid as many as I can by learning from others experience. Are there any YouTubers that you like better than others?
Thanks in advance!
