Unpopular opinion about reprints

I got the email from Illumicrate about the presale for Check and Mate. It made me realize that I think I’m in the minority that:

  1. I honestly don’t mind when boxes do reprints of previous books (yes even sub books)
  2. I also don’t care if they update the customizations on a previously released book

It really just feels like FOMO culture to be upset when a company offers an updated version of a previous book and customers get upset that they feel they need to purchase the updated version. For example: OwlCrate Bride and Mate. Did I buy Mate without the edges? Yes. Did I buy Bride and Mate with the edges? Also yes. I decided which version I ultimately liked more and sold the other for cost. I mainly bought both versions because I wasn’t sure if the spine style of Mate would bother me with the original version of Bride. It does not lol.

Ultimately, we’re entitled to our own opinions. I understand how it seems like a money grab by companies to update special editions for a reprint but it’s up to us as consumers to decide if we’re going to hop on the FOMO train or be fine with letting more people get access to previous books without paying really high prices.
