Fwahaha, Kris, remember when Mom would dress you up and make us go on lunch dates together? Well... thanks for taking me on another...
*It is an unassuming autumn day at QC's diner. You and Noelle are both sitting at a table, outside, waiting for your food.
*Her hair shines like platinum, and there is a warm smile on her face.
(It's... good to see Kris out and about. I haven't been invited to something like this in ages...)
You know Kris, I can't remember the last time we had a meal together... let alone go out for one! Fwahaha!
You remember all those times Mom made us go here, right? On those weekends, Mom didn't like the idea of us playing indoors all day... so she'd dress you up herself, and make us go to QC's!
She'd say it was so we 'don't cause any mess' or 'so we don't get square eyes'. But, secretly... I bet she really liked you spending time with me. But, maybe not in a... kind way...
I... I know most of it was because of my loneliness. After Dess... I was grieving so much, and Mom just... didn't want her daughter being the local moody girl. And you'd just be... pressured into doing all these things with me.
I mean, haha, hanging at a proper diner, looking all fancy? And you were clean dressed for once? With human foundation, too? Just by being next to you, I probably looked like the golden daughter of the whole town!
Over time I... guess I just got better at masking it. I didn't know at the time, but... I'm... really sorry for causing all that. She did so many forceful things, just to keep up her image as the town Mayor. The super Mom with the flawless daughter...
Sometimes... I have these... thoughts. That, one day, I'll be able to stop masking all my grief, and I'll finally get back at her... just to feel real again. In control, you know?
But, when we're together like this, Kris, I don't have any of those thoughts at all. They vanish like... like a skipping stone beneath the surface. It's like... I don't need to grief ever again.
Y-you... must feel similar, right Kris?
(I really don't know what's gotten into them to act so polite recently, but whatever the change... I hope it doesn't go away again...)
D-don't snicker like that! Eating here was your idea, so unless you're about to PRANK me-
A-ah~! Kris! Don't shake the table! That's YOUR drink you're about to spill!
...
Fwahaha, you know Kirs, if we did this more often, your blood sugar wouldn't be so low, and you might just stop dozing off in class! No more teasing comments from Berdly! How does that sound?
I'll meet you here every Monday morning, before school. It'll be my treat! We'll both have a reason to wake up early! Fwahaha!
H-huh? Only if I look just as.. c-cute... everyday!? Well, I'll try my best to be as adorable as you are, okay~?
