Stop with the victim blaming
Why is it every time I see a post about "my x was stolen from y" a lot of the comments say "well you should have gone to meet the driver" etc etc. Yeah sure next time.
The point though, is that none of this is okay in any circumstance. Stop being thief apologists stop condoning theft stop with the complacency. It really is not something that should be shrugged off, and worse someone just lost their stuff (who knows if it ruined their evening plans or was highly important or whatever) why are you blaming them?
EDIT: some of the comments below kinda demonstrate what I'm talking about, it's depressing.
The point I wish to make isn't whether it's appropriate or not to be street smart, meet the driver, etc. It's that this sort of theft is unacceptable. Full stop.
There's a lot of places around the world where this doesn't happen at all. We tend to despise porch pirates yet it's different if it's a dorm? Please stop making excuses for thieves. Why not aspire to make UBC a better place?
