I have been with the same firm and tax preparer for about 20 years. I'm retired and have sold my business. However, still have income properties with depreciation, etc. I have disagreements with my current tax preparer, both personally and professionally, and want to make a change. My question is: Is the 20-plus year history he has in his files and computers my property? I want it all so that I can hand it to my new accountant.
