Hi everyone,
I’m a parent trying to set up a small, private DayZ server on my personal PC for my “Parents Only Discord Server” community. Basically, I just want a low-key PVE space where we can play together without randos, rebuild, trade, etc.
I don’t have money to pay anyone, and I totally understand that. I’m just hoping to find a fellow parent (or anyone patient and kind) who:
• Has experience setting up/configuring a DayZ PC server (Steam DayZ Server).
• Is willing to help me step-by-step through setup, config files, and maybe a simple mod setup (like DayZ Expansion or basics).
• Can explain things in a way that a non-networking pro can follow (I’m tech-savvy, but new to DayZ servers).
As for what I can offer:
• I can’t pay, but I’m happy to:
• Give you credit in our Discord if you’re cool with that.
• Help you with something in return (game help, tech troubleshooting, etc.).
If anyone’s done this before and doesn’t mind helping a parent out, I’d really appreciate it. And if you’re not interested, no worries at all — just please don’t be rude or dismissive because I can’t pay. I’m asking for kind, helpful guidance, not a job.

I’m a parent and PC gamer running a Parents Only gaming community on Discord, and I’m looking for another parent who’d be willing to help me set up a private DayZ server on my personal PC for our members.

The goal is a chill, safe space for moms/dads to play DayZ together away from the usual chaos, not a big public monetized server.

What I’m looking for:

• Someone who has experience setting up or configuring a DayZ PC server (local or hosted)
• Comfortable walking me through the process step‑by‑step (installing server files, basic config, mods if needed, etc.)
• Ideally also a parent (mom or dad) so you understand the “parents only” vibe we’re going for

Important notes:

• This is NOT a paid gig/job. I can’t offer money right now, just a laid‑back community to hang out in and help build.
• You must have Discord and a mic, since we’ll need to talk in voice while we work through the setup.
• This is for a private server for our Discord members, not a public commercial project.

If you’re a parent, enjoy DayZ, and like helping others with tech/server stuff, I’d really appreciate your help.
