I made a tool for modelling marine electronics

I hope it’s okay to share this here since it’s completely free to use.

I built a tool for myself, and anyone else who might find it useful, for modelling electrical systems in boats.

It can help with things like cable sizing, fuse recommendations, and simulating different scenarios to see how batteries behave under different loads and charging conditions.

It’s still very new, so there are probably bugs and things I’ve missed. Please use your own judgement before relying on it too heavily.

I’d love feedback, ideas, or bug reports if anyone decides to try it out!

Tool for planning/simulating 12V systems

I’m redoing the 12V system in my boat and got tired of planning everything manually, so I ended up building a small browser tool for mapping out and simulating electrical systems. It started as a small personal side project but ended up as something quite ambitious and I've spent more time on it than I dare admit to myself.

Since van setups have a lot of the same challenges (cable sizing, fuse planning, battery loads, charging, voltage drop, etc.) I figured some people here might find it useful too.

It can currently:

  • help size cables/fuses
  • simulate loads + charging
  • visualize the whole system layout
  • see how changes affect the system overall

Still early and probably a bit buggy in places, so double-check things before relying on it too heavily.

But it’s already been really useful while planning my own setup.
