We've recently discovered that our s184 certificate was issued incorrectly, due to a long-running accounting mistake.

This error was made by the previous strata manager, replaced two years ago.

The OC has now corrected these dates, confirmed at AGM, well after our settlement. The dates were off by two months, so there were two months of fees that the vendor didn't pay - but again, neither party knew at the time.

Effectively, this now means that we've unknowingly covered $1.35k of the vendors fees. Our conveyancer says that the OC is responsible, but the OC claims that we need to deal with the vendor and/or previous strata manager ourselves.

Has anyone faced this before? What's the best pathway to recover these funds?
