Inflammation Causes?

Hi everyone, fistulotomy done in June somewhat failed, as per my mri the fistula has persisted and there is active inflammation. No absess or infection, just scar tissue also actively inflamed. The pain is severe and im waiting to see my CRS to see what the plan is. Why the inflammation though? I feel like the tissue has been inflamed since my initial absess in February. Has anyone experienced the same. Im trying to understand why this is persisting. I feel like my tissue will never heal because of the chronic inflammation. I keep getting asked by my surgical team if I have crohns, but i dont know, iv haven't been tested. I do struggle with IBS symptoms, I have Pots, mcas and eds too. Sorry if its a dumb question lol, im just trying to find some sense in this and hopefully some solutions because this feels like its a never ending extremely painful nightmare

Post Op Fistulotomy pain

Hi everyone, im 4 weeks post simple fistulotomy tomorrow, but for the past week the pain is just constant. Feels like deep tissue pain amd its always sore regardless of whether im walking or sitting or just being still. My wound has healed up really well and quickly, no signs of infection no discharge either. I do feel some hardish lump under the new healed tissue which im really hoping is just scar tissue, my wound nurse thinks so too. But where the hell is paining from? Im so scared. This was my second surgery in 3 months. I called my crs office and spoke with the nurse who told me to just take pain meds, but im feeling like somethings wrong as I never had pain the whole of the 2nd week. Hoping im just being anxious and its just the healing process. Any advice or experiences appreciated

Post fistulotomy wound care advise

Hi everyone, had fistulotomy surgery Monday afternoon, the wound is laying open with a few stitches right next to my butthole. It looks horrific. Im struggling with how to care for it, im going for dressings every second day but how did everyone else manage. Did you keep it covered with dressings all the time and then wash it and recover it yourself? Did you just keep it clean and cover with guaze? My packing fell out today so iv just covered it with guaze till my appointment later. This is so overwhelming. The dressings the nurses put on get wet whenever I pee aswell. How are you supposed to do sitz baths 3 times a day when it needs to be dressed and packed by a nurse? Thank u

Im almost 3 months post op for I&d of Perianal Absess. The wound has been really slow healing and its still about 2cm tracking under the skin with a 1cm opening on the outside. I do have long covid mcas and probable Enhler Danlos Syndrome. Wound looks healthy, no infection, been checked by my specialist and nurse. Pain has been coming back this week really badly but nurse said that the tissue is over granulating. Im so stressed and just want this over with! Any one had a similar experience?
