Just upgraded from AWU2 to Fenix 8. Officially joining the club!

Hey everyone,
After rocking the Apple Watch Ultra 2 for a while, I finally decided to take the plunge and made the switch to the Fenix 8.
Don't get me wrong, the AWU2 is a great smartwatch, but as my training volume started to pick up, I found myself needing a serious training tool rather than just a shiny screen on my wrist.
I was done with the daily charging anxiety and ready for those deep, unfiltered performance metrics.
Glad to finally be part of the Garmin club! Any hidden tips or must-have data fields for a newcomer? 🏃‍♂️

Hi everyone, I completed my first 5K today.

2 km at a conversational pace

1 km at an 11 pace

1 km at an 11 pace

1 km at a conversational pace

The first 2 km were a bit tough. I dropped to around a 10-11 pace at times, but after that it felt much easier, which made me really happy :)

My goal is to be able to run without stopping. I’ve just started using the Runna app, and it created an 8-week plan for me with 3 runs per week. Let’s see if I’ll be able to run 5K non-stop by the end of those 8 weeks.

I’m 41. I wouldn’t call myself sedentary. I’ve done mountaineering and CrossFit in the past, but I’ve never really tried running before. I’ve done long trekking hikes, but running was never something I could do. My first goal is 5K, then 10K, and after the summer I’d like to see myself in a race.

It may not mean much, but I wanted to share. consider this my “hello” to the club :)

If you have any tips or advice, I’d really appreciate it!
