I guess previous owners cooked with a lot of oil, and the vent recirculated in the house instead of routing outside. Really don’t want to paint the entire ceiling or risk an unsightly patch job. Can I use dawn dish soap on a soft bristle brush and gently dab or brush the stain?

The asphalt driveway does not meet the garage, as seen in the picture attached! Can we do a simple “ramp” style patch here, or is this going to get expensive and involving ripping up more of the driveway?
