Are the merch promotional videos related to the main CWHOS MV timeline?
I’m working a video attempting to explain the lore of Good Kid, and I wanted to see people’s opinions on this.

Hello! I'm back again with another Good Kid remaster!
Again, this is a two-source matrix.
- Source 2, from funkdefy416 on YT
- Source 5, from DanielS-ye4kh on YT
The difference compared to Wall (which I've done previously: https://youtu.be/oRiCauhA2nc) pretty different, as Wall uses Source 1. I'd argue that Aloe Lite sounds better, as Wall was done at a time where I was much more of an idiot in terms of audio remastering (yes, two weeks make a difference).
Unfortunately, that fact of me being an idiot still stands. Source 2 STILL has phasing and azimuth issues that I still can't for the life of me fix (blame idiocy I guess) and as a result, the audio can feel a bit lopsided at times. Tried to fix this the best I could. I still think it sounds *decent*, but it can definitely be improved.
Another problem is that Aloe Lite from Source 5 is incomplete, so the first half of the song is Source 2 only. It switches to both at the 0:45 mark. In any capacity, the switch will be jarring, but at least the song in its entirety is complete.
In other news: I'm finally gonna start working on complete show merges (TL;DR, it means compiling all available sources on the internet into one video) and remasters. Yes, I will be starting with 06/21, as it's the first Good Kid remaster I've done. Do note though this will take A WHILE, as full shows are way longer and harder to remaster than individual songs. If any of you do have footage of 06/21, please contact me on Discord @ musicallybored. I'd love to work on any audio (within reason).
In other OTHER news: I commented on one of the Good Kid shorts jokingly asking for 06/21's soundboard audio. The Good Kid YT channel hearted it. u/goodkidband, I'm just saying, if you're seeing this, let's negotiate. they're not gonna see this
(As always, video recordings have not been included in order to not make the original uploads obsolete. PLEASE SUPPORT THE ORIGINAL SHARERS!!)
This remaster is a two source matrix.
- Source 1, from MattEightSix
- Source 2, from funkdefy416
Individually the sources have their upsides and downsides, but combined together it sounds amazing! Obviously without a pure soundboard recording it's still pretty muddy but it's *an* improvement to the individual sources themselves. Unfortunately, the only circulating content from Source 1 is "Wall", so a matrix for any other song this show is impossible.
Additionally, there are some phasing issues with the audio, specifically source 2 that with my knowledge of audio clean up I cannot fix. I'm sorry, but like, I'm this thing people call stupid, so I got no idea how to fix it.
In order to not make the original video uploads obsolete, video recordings have not been included in this upload. PLEASE SUPPORT THE ORIGINAL SHARERS!!
(PS. Original sharers, if you wanna get into contact about sharing the entire source, hit me up.)
Enjoy!
Hello! This is my first ever Good Kid remaster, so bit nervous posting it!
As many can agree, the video feed mix was really weird and janky. But knowing how hard it is to balance a broadcast mix and an in-venue mix from personal experience, I still give props to the sound engineer who mixed GK that day.
Now sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but a remaster can’t magically fix all those issues. All we can really do is minimise the ones we can. Still not that happy with it but it's probably the best I can push this mix to without going insane.
The original source is the official copy released on the Streamer Awards YT channel. I originally worked on the Good Kid DLC channel copy, but it seems to be in worse condition than the official copy, likely due to being ripped from the VOD.
I based the remaster off the recently live-streamed LA concert on the “Can We Hang Out Sometime” Tour and the CBC Music Live mix. The main problems were addressed from the mix:
- All instruments were re-EQ’d separately using stem splitting technology.
- The reverb at the beginning of “Wall” was majorly reduced/removed entirely. This does result in some major isolation artifacts, but also results in clearer musical content overall.
- The drums were originally quite dull, especially the snare. This was fixed to an extent here, but the broadcast mix made it hard to get it exactly to the sound I wanted it to.
- Panned high-hat (mainly a preference in my mixes).
- Nick’s vocals had a weird echo/reverb during “Wall”. Unfortunately, removing it entirely would’ve caused a lot more consistent isolation artifacts than I would’ve liked, so I opted to keep it. Trust me, this was the safer option.
- Unfortunately, David’s mic was SO LOW that it was barely picked up in the stem splitting process. As a result, he is still essentially inaudible.
- There seems to be some weird bassy noises during the intro of “Eastside”? Those were reduced or removed entirely.
If I had access to the complete sources of the audience recording of Good Kid’s set (I assume one exists within GK’s archives as audience footage and audio is in the Streamer Awards vlog), or the (I assume non-existent) multitracks, I’d be able to potentially fix it further, much more than what I’m able to do with just the broadcast mixes. Good Kid, if you’re seeing this, I’m just saying… hit me up /j
VIDEO:
The video is the plain official copy uploaded to YouTube from the official Streamer Awards channel. Nothing very special there.
DOWNLOAD: Out of copyright concern, I will not be sharing a lossless link unless I get direct permission from the Streamer Awards team or Good Kid themselves.
(EDIT: the export messed up the audio slightly. hopefully should be fixed for the final release.)
Hello! Here's what I've been working on the past couple of days.
Everyone knows the video feed mix of Good Kid's Streamer Awards performance was pretty bad.
While I do give props to the original mixers as I myself know how hard it is to mix a broadcast and an in-person mix at the same time, I wanted to see how far I could push this mix to a feasible "official release".
The main changes were:
- Removal of the reverb at the beginning of Wall
- The overall drum sound
- Redoing the overall EQ
This isn't a final revision presented here by any means - just my current version. All of this is subject to change, especially since there's a lot of stuff here I don't really like (the bass guitar sounds really weird to me).
There is no defintive release date, it will come out when it's ready.
Hello! First time doing a Good Kid remaster, so a bit nervous posting this.
The Streamer Awards performance basically needs no introduction to any Good Kid fan (some people came from it even), however everyone can agree that the mix that night was pretty... well, in my disgusting opinion, terrible.
Now, not to burst out anyone's bubble, but a remaster can't magically fix all those issues. I originally tried remastering Wall, and it still sounded horrendous. That reverb and echo at the beginning is basically irrepairable (is that a word?) with the tools I use. I've basically given up on attempting to fix that song. However, the mix for Eastside was in WAY better than condition than Wall, so I decided to work on that song instead.
The source I used here was the official Good Kid DLC YouTube channel. Upon further inspection however, it seems a higher quality version was on the Streamer Awards YouTube channel instead... Whoops.
The difference from the remaster to the original is subtle, but it's definitely there. The main issues with this recording was the sound of the drums, which I cleaned up decently well. You'll notice this mainly with the snare drum, which originally sounded weak. No drum triggers were used: whatever you hear is exactly the same ones heard on the broadcast. Some weird noises during the intro was removed/lowered in the mix. That's moreso of a preference than a necessity.
To be honest, I'm not that happy with this remaster. There's so many things still that I'm not happy with. If you think that this is a downgrade to the original mix, I understand completely 👍
If anyone has any Good Kid recordings that you think needs polishing up, feel free to contact me on Discord: musicallybored. I'd be glad to work on any audio (within reason).
More remasters coming soon, trust.
