2016 with 8800 miles and a handful of mods.
I'm going to try to talk him down, but what would you pay for this bike?
Going to look at it this evening. What should I look for?

I'm 29, when I was around 19 I got my first motorcycle and rode it infrequently for about a year before I decided it wasn't for me. Now I think I'd like to try again. I still have the endorsement, but I rode so little and so long ago that I'm not confident that I still know how to ride.
The bike I'm looking to buy is a Honda CRF250L. It's about 20 miles from my home. I'm considering purchasing the bike and practicing riding in lots near the dealer to refresh and brush up on what little riding skill I have, before riding it home.
Is this a dumb idea? Should I make sure I can actually ride before I buy a bike? I want to buy it soon before it's sold to someone else. I don't have any rider friends who can help me out here.
