Any beer festivals / social events coming up?

Sup! Recently moved here from Toronto. Curious if there's any good craft beer festivals coming up, and/or if you guys ever have any meet up events? Want to explore the scene here a bit and always nice to have some company!

Are there companies I can pay to furnish my apartment?

I recently relocated here from out of province and I'm not shipping any furniture over (it was all old, cheap, Ikea stuff). I'm currently in a furnished short-term rental but due to move into my new unfurnished place in about a week. Are there services that exist (interior decorators?) that I could pay to furnish my place? That is, identify necessary items (sofa, tv stand, bed, etc) and handle purchasing and delivery?

(I know furniture rental services exist but I don't think the value works out).

Public lectures?

Back when I was in university (not UBC, and years ago, lol) I used to enjoy going to various public lectures outside my main classes. The physics and astronomy department had a monthly series, and I remember the geology faculty had fairly regular public lectures/talks as well. And when I was at UofT, there was a semi-regular "beer and science" (forget the exact name) event hosted at a nearby pub.

Does UBC do anything like this? I've tried googling but I'm just finding very old events. Thanks!

Things to do/see on campus as a non-student?

I recently started a new job on the UBC campus. It's a research position, but I'm actually privately employed, not faculty. Anyway, I've never been to UBC before so I'm just looking for ideas for things to check out on campus - interesting sites/views, museums (I know there are a few), maybe some public lectures, etc. Basically just any fun/interesting things I can take advantage that don't require being a student. Thanks!
