Felt the last heartbeat of a Canada Goose at Barnet Marine Park tonight... still shaken.
A Canada Goose collapsed right in front of us at Barnet Marine Park tonight around 8:40 PM.
We tried offering water and I held it, but I felt its chest go limp and its last heartbeat stop right in my hands. It was a heartbreaking and terrifying thing to feel.
I’ve reported it to Burnaby Animal Control for safe removal.
Feeling that life leave in my hands is going to stick with me for a long time.
P.S.- I had gloves.
