Read this if your still struggling to get your period back

Hey everyone a new study has come out recently that is so interesting. It can highlight how your total calories can be unimportant compared to your macros!

Overview : The study compared 2 types of women , with FHA (functional hypothalamic amenhorrea) and without (women with regular cycles)

They compared their eating habits and found out that women who were more “health conscious” were more likely to have FHA - (EVEN THOUGH THE TWO GROUPS WERE EATING THE SAME AMOUNT OF CALORIES !!)

By health conscious I mean - consuming more protein , fibre and vitamins than women who had regular periods.

Basically it states that women who consumed more carbohydrates and fats were more likely to have a regular cycle.

This is so interesting and eye opening! 150-200g of protein per day is too much and unnecessary! 0.8g per kg of body weight is recommended

Forget what you heard on social media , do not centre your plate around protein. Centre it around carbs and add plenty of healthy fats ! (Protein is also important just not ALOT!)

Keep eating your 2500+ calories girls. Make sure majority is from carbohydrates + 0.8g/kg of body weight of protein and keep being patient you got this !!

FORGOT TO MENTION ALSO !! Fibre can be very good for our bodies but too much may interfere with our estrogen production. This could also be a factor that is keeping your period from not returning. Keep it to under 25g per day and consume simple carbs , rice , potatoes , white bread etc

GOOD LUCK GIRLS xxxx

Just about to give up

. I am just wondering idk what to do I’ve gained 9kgs and got my period back at different weights, Then I’ve gained another 8kg so in total 17! I’m struggling I think I’m all in because im just eating whatever I want. Anyway, I’m literally the most unconfident and insecure I’ve ever been in my whole life and still no regular period. I don’t even recognise myself but it’s weird because I keep gaining weight even though I got my period back 8kgs ago and not now ? I’m struggling I wonder if you could help me.

Just a warning I will be discussing numbers so please click off if you don’t want to see💖

Got my period back at these weights

Feb 2025 50kg
April 2025 52kg

January 2026 53kg
April 2026 : 57kg

I never got them 2 months in a row
These are how irregular my periods have been.

All the time in between these dates I did not get a period.

I had my period first in April 2021 and it’s been very regular until May 2023, it came in Jan 2024 and been gone until Feb 2025 (I had an ed)

I decided to go all in in March ish when I was about 53kg but honestly I just feel very uncomfortable and I quit my sports (only go gym 2x times a week for 1 hr)

I’m just over it now. I don’t know what to do

Any advice would be so helpful

(Btw I only weigh myself once I get my period because I don’t want the numbers to trigger me!) I’m 16 btw
