I have 6 hours in between flight at LIM, not sure if I could visit somewhere nearby than just staying at the airport?

*EDIT - my flight back to Europe is actually at 17:30!! So I have 2 more hours!*

Hi,

In early August, I will have a flight from Santiago arriving LIM at 08:30, then I'll have to catch my international flight back to Europe at 15:30, so I have some awkward hours in between my flights.

My tour guide suggested me to stay at the airport, as the return trips to Lima tourist spots would take a good 3 hours; then I would also need to find a place to store luggage and there maybe traffic, so he wouldn't recommend me going anywhere.

But 6 hours at LIM airport?! What am I going to do 🙁 Anyone has any suggestion? Is that too risky / Not worthing doing it with all the effort?

Thanks for any advice or suggestion!

Looking for Dentist recommendation in Zurich area

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can recommend a really good dentist.

Over the past few years I've tried a few different dental clinics in Zurich. They all did a decent job with routine cleanings, and I eventually settled on one near Escher-Wyss-Platz (8005).

A while ago I developed a sharp tooth pain and ended up needing a root canal. I initially thought everything had been done well, but the tooth has never quite felt right since. At subsequent cleaning appointments, I mentioned the lingering discomfort, but I was repeatedly told everything looked fine and that I should ask the dentist to check it at my next visit.

I was also diagnosed with a mild, slow-progressing form of periodontitis and was told that regular cleanings should keep it under control. However, despite the regular cleaning and each time being told I've done a good job with my teeth and gum, I still feel my gums are receding, I don't recall them ever taking any measurements or doing a proper periodontal assessment. That, combined with the ongoing issue with my tooth, has left me feeling like I should get a second opinion.

I'm looking for a dentist who is thorough, proactive, and takes the time to investigate concerns rather than just doing routine cleanings.

I'd prefer somewhere in/near Zurich, but if you know an exceptional dentist in Konstanz or anywhere near the Swiss-German border, I'd happily travel.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Sunrise Mobile is such a disappointment! Read this before you port your number away. (Yes, this is also a rant 😤)

I joined Sunrise in 2022 on a 24-month contract - decent deal, crossborder signal was patchy but fair for the price. After the contract ended I stayed on a while longer, then recently decided to switch providers.

Called them, they tried the usual retention pitch, I politely declined. I clarified the cancellation & changing process, then gave 2 months' notice as required by the contract. Done, I thought. Just sit back and wait.

Yeah...nope!

I took my time setting up my new account, not realising that "activating" the new account with the new service provider was actually triggering the number porting request. Cue an email from Sunrise: I've apparently cancelled with less than the required notice period. Penalty: CHF 144. 😦😡

Called customer service. The guy explained that the contract cancellation and the porting request are two separate processes, and both need to be submitted at the same time. Because I only did the cancellation back then, Sunrise is counting the porting notice from today. Hence the penalty.

My argument: Sunrise never told me this. When I switched from Swisscom to Sunrise years ago, I didn't have this problem. If Sunrise would had explained it (especially I did check with them), I obviously would have filed both requests together. It's not about the rule existing, it's about the fact that they never disclosed it and now they're charging me for it.

We went back and forth. The guy was actually decent. He offered a small courtesy credit, which was the most he could do. Fair play to him.

But Sunrise? After a few years as a customer, this is how you treat people on the way out? CHF 144 penalty for something you never explained? No thanks. This is a hard no-return for me, and I won't be recommending them to anyone.

Product quality matters. But so does how you treat customers, especially when they're leaving. That's your last chance to leave a good impression. Sunrise blew it.

Well, guess one always learn, I learnt about the difference between cancellation and porting requests today. So for those who want to change service provider and didn't know about this, I hope you don't have to pay the tuition fee like I did.
