Advice Please!

I'm a current high school senior in MI and my plan since middle school has been to become a school counselor. I'm planning to major in Psychology and am open to relocating just about anywhere I can be sure I'll have a job post-graduation. I plan to reach out to a few school counselor's I know in the next few weeks as well as a few clinical psychologists (I'm also considering specializing in developmental/family psychology and being a therapist for children).

I guess what I'm doing here is asking what I should be aware about before trying to finalize any plans and overall, is school counseling worth it?

Thank you in advance to anyone who reaches out!

College Apps

Rising senior here!

CMU isn't my number 1 choice and if I get the opportunity I want to go out of state for college, however, it is much much higher on my list for in state schools. I know a few alumni but they all majored in things related to music (I plan to major in psychology) and weren't super involved with other programs to be able to tell me how my experience would be. My GPA is a 3.7 right now and I do mostly Honor's and AP courses as well as a dual enrollment program at my local college so the academic program itself is quite important to me wherever I go.

Basically what I'm asking is how good of a school is CMU for psychology. Other things I'm considering when choosing schools include the state of extracurriculars such as choir, theatre, and orchestra and also the overall vibe and population of campus and the city. I'm asking this stuff here because I highly doubt I'll have the opportunity to go on any campus tours or participate it any such events before picking a school.

Thanks in advance to anyone who answers!

CMU vs. EMU vs. WMU

I'm a rising high school senior looking into colleges. My top in-state choices right now are WMU, EMU, and CMU. My plan is to get a bachelor's in psychology and then get my master's so I can work as a secondary school counselor.

Honestly, everything is a little overwhelming right now and I'm looking for outside opinions on the pro's and con's of different schools.

Any help would be great, thanks!

EDIT: Okay, thank you everyone for all of the suggestions and insight. It really does help a lot.

I'm currently in an early college program through my high school and the local community college and if I stick with it I'll be able to get my associate's within the next year. The downside is that if I stay here next year, my family is planning to move out of state after I graduate so a lot of my big benefits for going to that community college (being close to home especially) kind of fall apart anyway. If I do go out of state however, my college credits won't transfer.
