Would transitioning form SWE to data engineering save me?

Hi, sub! I hope I’m not breaking any rules, but don’t know where to turn for general data engineering career advice. Recently laid-off US-based senior SWE with 13 yoe. Wondering if pivoting into data engineering would save me for some of the things that have been working against me in the SWE world as of late:

  1. LeetCode questions - I can’t find it in me to devote months to grinding pointless DSA. Not again. How prevalent are those in the data engineering interviews?
  2. Layoffs/Being replaceable - being an SWE generalist doesn’t seem ideal these days. Has the layoff culture skipped the data engineering world?
  3. Difficulty finding a job - does it feel the same for data engineers? How bad is the competition? Thousands of applications go to each SWE role

Minoxidil cannot survive summer in warehouses or UPS trucks

So, apparently most if not all retailer and UPS warehouses are famously not weather controlled and can reach temperatures of 110-120F during the summer months. The back of a UPS truck is known to reach 130F. At these temperatures the complete kinetic oxidation of any minoxidil solution is a matter of hours. Millions of people are burning money are not seeing results for months at a time just while irresponsible retailers and shipping companies are nonchalantly storing products improperly. This goes for many other products like cosmetics, fragrances, and medications. Class action lawsuit anyone?
