Hey folks,

I'm a Ubuntu user and I personally like to stick to the LTS version, which is generally much more stable and better supported. When Sway 1.12 was released I was pretty happy to see the window sharing support, but I quickly noticed it won't be available in Ubuntu 26.04 (the LTS won't get major version bumps).

I decided to build it from source and packaged it as a PPA.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pgentili/sway
sudo apt update
sudo apt install sway
sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal-wlr

Should work cleanly on 26.04. Let me know if you run into any issues, and feel free to poke around the PPA page if you want build details.
