I've had sleep paralysis off-on when I was 11, but now its common. I am now used to it and only mildly annoyed about it.

Are the eyes actually open during episodes?

Or does my brain take a "screenshot" of my bedroom before I doze off, and generates an episode off of it, making me think my eyes were open while it was really closed like normal sleeping the whole time? I've never really filmed myself nor have I ever had someone else monitoring me while these happen, so I dunno what the episodes look like
