Ceramic care experiences and tips?

Honestly, I really wanted the N in performance blue matte, but life can’t always be rainbows and talking unicorns. I had professionals apply Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra ceramic coating. Anyone else go this route or something similar? 10h hardness with 9-year guarantee. I want easy washes and sustained shine. Anyone out there have a year 2/3 update? Just don’t gloat about your performance blue matte car. I’m sensitive.

Does this happen to you?

Everybody tries to race me. I’m not doing anything. I’m not making eye contact. It’s every type of car in every situation. Why? (Yes, I’m in Florida.)

Time is a Flat Circle

After more than 8 months of going pro se, dragging Hyundai through Florida’s lemon law process, and I mean all the way to a final state arbitration board order after outright refusal to comply with state law and multiple bad faith actions/inactions, my thought process is, “if it happens again, I get my money back… so I might as well live a little.”

And since they were ordered to do it (not a settlement), there’s no NDA. Pro tip: If you are in a lemon and you traded a car for your I5, you are entitled to your trade being calculated as NADA/J.D. Power RETAIL value as of your purchase date (likely a plus for most who traded a car). Hyundai is required to produce the book with the numbers, but they won’t. Worry not because it’s at your public library waiting to be photographed. Don’t trust anything they say (your interests are not aligned), follow the law and you’ll get there, eventually. But would I do it all again? Oh, I’m a gluttoN for puNishment.

I made a free and open source replacement app for Hyundai Bluelink

https://imgur.com/a/QrhAHBP

Hi r/Ioniq5! One of my least favorite parts of being an I5 owner has been dealing with the BlueLink app. It just isn't very good. So, I made my own version that is available now via TestFlight!

BetterBlue is an iOS 26-native, completely free app for Hyundai and Kia vehicles. It supports:

  • Viewing range/battery percentage
  • Locking/Unlocking
  • Climate control
  • Stopping and starting charging
  • Multiple vehicles from different brands
  • Widgets
  • Shortcuts
  • iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch

Note that the app requires iOS 26 and an active BlueLink subscription!

Both the app itself and the client are fully open source with zero tracking or advertising. You can check out the source code below (PRs welcome!)

Client Source Code

Please try it out and let me know what you think! I'm happy to answer any questions in the comments.
