Finally think my front garden is almost done after 2 years

My front garden is quite steep and the grass has always been difficult to cut. After putting the different raised planters it was even more difficult to cut. I've been intending to cover the grass over and make it look nicer with lower maintenance.

I'm very happy with the result. I'm hoping the cardboard will help keep the weeds down

So I helped some friends with their Garden today

My friends have been in their house a few years. They struggle to get their gardening started. It seems a monumental task with so much to do.

I said I would come round and give them a hand. I brought some tools and gardening tools to do some different jobs. Unfortunately I only got the one job done as it took all my energy in the heat to do.

They had a huge ivy creeper that had overgrown their fence and I'm hoping I've knocked it back enough for them to move onto other things. Like overgrown blackberry bushes and wall from an old rockery that needs breaking up. Hopefully I'll be over again to help soon before the bad weather sets in.

Just over 2 years in the new house and still trying to improve it.

When we first moved in in June 2024 there was just bare grass everywhere and a overgrown bush in the front garden. I managed to get some pallet collars from work and also cut some timber to make these raised planters.

This year I hadn't done so much in the garden as work has been more stressful so my energy has been lower. We try to do flowers at the front of the house and veg at the back.

I'm contemplating making more raised planters I. The garden and I have a load of decorative bark to cover the front garden as it's hard to cut the grass and will cut down on weeds.

Thinking of planting out some of the roses rather than keeping them in pots.

I do love my beetroot and I get satisfaction planting them knowing how expensive they are in the shops.

Also grown rocket, carrots (not so many this year) basil, oregano, tomatoes and courgettes.

I'm having a lot of trouble with foxes digging at my planters. I've gotten another solar powered scarer hoping it will help.
